I can remember my kindergarten teacher, even after all these long years... She was very kind and I felt so good being in her class. I remember learning the alphabet and the dance festival where I got to lead the bunny hop!

My favorite teacher was in my freshman year of high school. She introduced me to iguanas as pets and I got one -- she was so excited and I let her take it home with her over spring break, and she accidentally left it in her car.. while it was hot out. Not the best outcome but we still are in contact today and laugh about it! :)

My favorite teacher was Mr.P . He let us call him this for short as he had a long last name. But he was never made fun of over it because everyone just liked him. He came to our science class as a substitute high school teacher but we begged to have him stay on and the school made him a full time teacher. He worked very hard to get our misfit filled classroom to pay attention though. In fact he worked the hardest of any teacher I ever had. In the end I dont think any of us wanted to leave his classroom. Great teacher. I miss him.

One of my favorite teachers was my freshman geometry teacher who was very funny, kind and managed to make geometry interesting and fun. Sadly he left the teaching profession the next year and became a surveyor because of the pay. (Which reminds me, one of my son's favorite teachers left his job last year to become a tattoo artist for the same reason.) It's a sad world where a tattoo artist makes significantly more than a teacher.

My favorite memory will always be watching my son get on the school bus for the first time and holding back my tears until the bus pulled away. My favorite teacher in high school was my Honors English teacher. I've always loved to write and she basically forced me to. If I wanted to slack off, she wouldn't let me. If she saw that something I was writing had potential, she wouldn't back down until I finished it, edited it, and added it to my senior portfolio. She did everything in her power to make a better writer, and admitted to me once that her biggest dream in life was for one of her students to go on to write and publish a novel, and dedicate it to her. Since that day in my Sophomore year, I have planned to dedicate my first novel to her and present it to her.

I will never forget staying after her class and helping her clean up while discussing Anne Rice and her Vampire Chronicles (which we both love) or the summer after my senior year, talking on the phone with her about college and Shakespeare.

Mrs. Creech will always hold a place in my heart.

My favorite teacher was my second grade teacher, Mrs. Razor. I went to visit her right before I graduated high school with a bunch of kids that were in my class with her. It was such a great experience.

I would have to say that my favorite back to school memories are probably from elementary school when I was young enough to be so excited that I couldn't sleep the night before and thrilled to dress in my new clothes and fill the back pack w/ new school supplies the next morning. :)

My favorite teacher in school was Mrs. McClatchey. She was my theatre teacher and director. She always pushed me to do my best and knew exactly how to teach to help us understand. She recently retired and it makes me sad to think how many students will not know her and her wonderful way of learning.

My favorite teacher in high school was my art teacher. He was very influential in my decision to pursue art in college. I will always be grateful to him for the kind words of encouragement and for his constant reminder to me that he was "my biggest fan." :)

My fav. back to school memory was my senior year. We had our own senior parking lot and just a few classes. The best part was my new tat. I had a friend give me a homemade tat in middleschool and it was supposed to be a heart on my ankle but came out looking like a demented Jellybean. Everyone always called it the Jellybean, oh the mistakes we make :) I turned 18 a few days before school started and the first thing I did was get it covered and I loved walking around with my cool new tat :)

I had a couple of favorite teachers in high school. My History/Psychology teacher was so much fun to debate with. I think he would purposely try to get under my skin :) My art teacher was a blast - because my friend and I were his more advanced students, he left us to our own devices most of the time, which made art my favorite class.

My favourite teacher is the one who's teaching me politics now. He taught me sociology last term.

Sometimes... just sometimes I allow myself to think I'm in love with him. Because he's just so nice. But nothing will come out of it.

Teachers like him don't care that I am ignorant about what's going on in Tunisia and Libya. He makes me think I can do something to change the world just by ... educating myself on these issues.
