A Poem to Welcome Autumn

September

Autumn makes mention
On a not-so-hot morning
As a brigade of lazy clouds
Blocks the late sunrise
And five yellow leaves peek
From behind their green siblings.
The corn fields are shadowed
And the trees mournful.
The loss of summer coming,
They think of weeping
